Where have you been? Doing one of the things we do probably way to often, moooving and getting settled in. Wow! This has been a real long, drawn out event. I would never call it an ordeal because I love my new house. I call it "My French Country Home". From the time the house went on the market until our occupancy it took over a year. Well worth waiting for. You know the saying, "Good things come to those who wait" and wait we did. Why the wait? First of all the house had to come on the market. Second the price had to come way down. Third we had to be convinced in our hearts and minds that this was the right house for us at this time. It was love at first sight when I first saw the house with the swooping roof line. The inside was just my style but had it in me I needed this huge great room with kitchen open to it. We found a house like that but we felt like we were rattling around in that big room. You see I am from the south we do rooms not a room. Third we had to sell our house. The great thing is once we made the decision to buy this one things moved very quickly. The family that looked at and wanted to buy our house had to sell theirs first. It was so sweet the kids were leaving us notes saying we love your house when they looked at it. So, we prayed and believed God to sell their house for them so they could buy ours. God is so good! Their house sold, our house sold and we bought this house. Yes the price came down to a tune of five figures. The move was on! We closed in three weeks, moved into a hotel and stored our furniture in the fellowship hall of our church. One week later we began the move into our new house. Here it is three months later and we just finished moving the rest of our belongings out of the fellowship hall. It was a little strange walking into the church and seeing your personal life piled up for everyone to see. But you do what you have to do. The fellowship hall became known as "The Putnam Flea Market". Hmmm wonder who started that Brian?
A big thanks to everyone in our church that helped to make this move possible. We love you and appreciate all you do for us as your pastors. You are the most loving, giving people with hearts of gold. Here is a small list of things you did. Moved our belongings to church and from church to home, sold items on Craig's list for us, painted the entire house inside, removed unwanted landscaping, continue to mow our yard, changed all our locks, replaced boards on our deck and stained it, put back splash tile in, and you have all been extremely happy for us.
My Preacher Man says, "Maybe by the next time we move we will clean out all of our boxes we have moved over the years from house to house without ever looking in them". Probably NOT!!!
Looking forward to posting pictures and events from "My French Country Home".
Love to all,
